More positive legislation for families is passing around the country!
On Wednesday, March 29, Virginia Governor, Glenn Youngkin, signed into law a bill providing support for mothers and their babies.
The bill, championed by Delegate Emily Brewer in the House and Senator Siobahn Dunnavant in the Senate, will provide financial assistance to cover pregnancy and delivery related expenses.
According to Delegate Brewer, “HB2290 is landmark legislation that will allow new mothers the opportunity to seek pregnancy and delivery related expenses. This measure being signed into law will assist in reducing the financial burden on mothers at a time when caring for a newborn is of utmost importance. I am proud to have carried this priority bill on behalf of the Governor, and I am grateful for his commitment to such vital legislation”
